About Hidden Layers
We're a small online store for tools that let you check a wall, a floor, a pipe or a plug yourself — before a small problem turns into an expensive one.
We're an independent online retailer run by Roman Pchelintsev, a sole proprietor. We sell five phone-powered inspection tools from named makers, name the maker and model on every product page, and say plainly what each tool can't do. Orders ship free from our supplier's warehouse in China and usually arrive 7–15 days after you order. You get 30-day returns and a 12-month limited warranty, and a real person answers every email.
Why we started
The problems that cost the most in a home are the ones nobody sees: a slow leak inside a wall, insulation that slumped years ago, a plug that runs hot. By the time they show, the repair is big. Professional inspection tools find them early, but most people don't own one and don't need a pro-grade kit.
A phone already has a good screen, a processor and an app store. Plug a small thermal sensor or a camera on a cable into it, and you can do most of the checks a homeowner needs.
How we choose what we sell
- Named makers. Every product page says who makes it and the exact model — GOYOJO, LAFOCH, ENWOR, Mastfuyi — so you can check the specs for yourself. We're an independent retailer and not affiliated with any of them.
- Specs from the maker. We use the maker's figures and say where they're rounded or where two sources disagree.
- Only the phones we can stand behind. If a phone isn't confirmed yet, we tell you and ask you to email us before you order. The full table is on will it work with my phone.
- What it can't do, up front. A thermal camera doesn't see through walls. A 1 m scope isn't a sewer camera. A moisture meter doesn't detect mold. Each page says so.
- Honest images. Product images are illustrations based on photos of the models we ship.
How orders work
- Shipping: free and tracked. Orders ship from our supplier's warehouse in China and usually arrive 7–15 days after you order. In the US and Canada, import duties or taxes may be collected on delivery. Details: shipping.
- Returns: 30 days. Change-of-mind returns go back to the warehouse in China at your cost. If a tool doesn't work with a phone we list as compatible, or arrives faulty or wrong, we refund or replace it and you don't pay to send it back. Details: returns and refunds.
- Warranty: a 12-month limited warranty from us, Hidden Layers, against defects in materials and workmanship: we repair it, replace it or refund you. Full terms: returns and warranty.
The guides
We write guides on finding leaks, drafts, missing insulation and hot wiring — what to look for, how to use the tool, and when to stop and call a licensed pro. Our tools help you find a problem and describe it; the repair is often a job for a plumber, an electrician or a roofer.
